If you are considering renting a home that simply “buzzes” with excitement from the moment you open the door, make sure that the property is not actually alive – literally – with bees. A rental home in Savannah was recently peeled open like a banana in an attempt to rid the property of “a good 20-thousand bees,” according to the bee keeper and expert called into solve the problem[1]. As the expert and his assistant peeled away four square feet of siding to partially reveal a massive bee hive in the wall of the home they looked for the queen to “vacuum her up” so that all the other bees would follow her to their new home – far away from the interior of a family’s house.
The beekeeper who removed the bees does not exterminate them, but keeps them on his own property so that they can continue to make honey, which is sold to the public on weekends.
