You’re reading this because you’re interested in real estate and business. So let’s focus there.
If you’re an undecided voter, you’re a lot like me: Not particularly in love with either candidate. On the one hand, there’s the dashing and incredibly eloquent Barrack Obama versus the seasoned, courageous and wise John McCain.
Who do you choose?
Let’s ignore the politics for a moment, and think about reality for us as real estate investors, business people, lovers of our families and seekers of liberty.
There are all kinds of specific policy issues that make the choice fairly simple if your focus is on economic opportunity. I’ll tell you about those in a minute, but let’s think about what’s really most important: Our families.
I spent the afternoon with my daughters yesterday. My daughters and my wife are the love of my life, and I would do anything to help and protect them. I am sure you feel the same about your family.
My oldest daughter is named Kayla, and she and I have the special type of daddy-daughter relationship that every father craves. As I was hanging out with her, I began to think of her future. I thought about what she would become professionally. I thought about whether and when she would get married. I thought about what I would do to make sure she has every advantage.
This is important for a lot of reasons, some of which are obvious. But one isn’t so obvious: How will the choice between Obama and McCain effect my daughters – and your family?
The answer there is quite clear.
My daughters – and your family – will have to have a free society and business climate to experience real professional success. And let’s be clear: My hope is that my daughters are overwhelming financial successes beginning early and all the way through life. Here’s why:
- The fundamental yearning of the human soul is freedom. Behind only physical and political freedom in importance is financial freedom.
- My parents demonstrated and taught me that it’s very, very important to help those who need it, and I have taught my daughters the same. The more financial success they have, the more good they can do.
- Financial success gives rise to opportunity. I want my daughters to be able to take advantage of situations like we have right now, with a depressed stock market and low real estate prices. That takes money.
Here’s where I have to take the inevitable leap into choosing sides. While Mr. Obama is a rhetorical dynamo, he does not represent the best interest of my family – our yours.
You agreed that you want your children to have the best of everything, didn’t you? Mr. Obama does not agree. Imagine for a moment that one or more of your children are reasonably successful, and are able to realize a 6-digit income in their 20′s (I did it, even though nobody in my family had ever done so, so it’s definitely possible)…
Mr. Obama wants to take a staggering percentage of your child’s income in the future – but he wants to take it only from your child. He doesn’t want to take it from your child’s friends who didn’t work quite as hard as your child. He doesn’t want to take it from the people who are unable to compete with your child in the professional marketplace and work force. He wants to take it from your child specifically, because your child is successful.
You may be tempted to think that Obama’s tax policies won’t be a factor by the time your child is an adult. But please: Do not fool yourself. We still have most of the destructive “New Deal” tax policies after 6 decades. Obama’s changes will be no different.
Furthermore, Obama will condemn your child’s preference to be keeper of his own money by referring to your child as “selfish”. That’s right: Obama has publicly stated that anyone who prefers not to pay exorbitant taxes is selfish. To Obama, if you work hard and are successful, you are “selfish” if you prefer to be able to use your own money.
That’s hypocrisy, through and through. Obama wants to take money from virtually everyone (he started his campaign by saying he’d raise taxes on those making over $300,000 – then went progressively down to $250,000 then $200,000 then $150,000). The reason he claims to want that money is to “spread the wealth around” – or so he told “Joe the Plumber”.
What does that sound like to you? If you remember your high school history and civics classes, you’ll know that’s a fundamental tenent of socialism and communism (which are the same things, just in varying extremes). Both of those forms of government are oppressive and limiting and are not related to freedom.
What Obama proposes to do is to take away your child’s freedom to be a high income earner by stifling the motivation to achieve it. (After all, if you’re going to lose most of your income above a certain point, why should you ever earn more than that?)
Furthermore, he’s going to stifle your child’s ability to do good for the benefit of those around him, because Obama wants to take away so much of your child’s income that your child will have little left to assist those in need. Sure, Obama says that he wants to “spread the wealth around” so that those making less money will have more available to them – but has that ever worked? It’s so rare that a person goes off of welfare and into the working world that such stories make big news.
Those stories wouldn’t be big news if government were good at managing charity. but they are not.
And let’s not forget about your child’s safety.
We clearly have a big problem with terrorism, and are the primary target of terrorists throughout the world. Why? We’re free. We have the right to run our lives as we want, and nothing is more of a threat to tyranny and destruction than freedom. Our souls yearn for freedom, and enemies of freedom want to stamp it out wherever it exists.
That’s why Mr. Obama’s extremely tight associations with known terrorists like William Ayers (who bombed his targets here in America in the 60′s and who publicly has regretted that he didn’t do more) is so disturbing. Obama has relied on William Ayers as a friend, professional acquaintance, political fundraiser and more for decades…
…and his only defense – which frankly is not believable – is that he did not know of Mr. Ayers’ past. Yet still, Obama continues the association.
And Mr. Obama’s lifelong pastor, spiritual mentor and friend, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, is a well-documented hater of America. Just look him up on YouTube and you’ll find so much blatant anti-America speech that it will make your stomach turn.
This is who Obama has relied on for advice and mentorship for two decades. I guess if my mentor hated America like Rev. Wright does, I’d be willing to consider policies that are not in the best interest of America, too.
Which brings us back around to our children. This is a historic election – but frankly, it’s being made into a racial and gender issue. Many seem focused on Obama’s blackness or Palin’s femininity, but focusing on those things makes one bigoted, doesn’t it?
I propose that you look past those things. I’ve already voted for John McCain. Not because he’s my first choice – I was a strong supporter of another candidate during the primaries – but because I can’t conscience what a Barrack Obama presidency will do to this country, and to the hope I have for my daughter’s future.
Kayla was so much fun yesterday as we discussed the things she likes to do (she’s really into building things and would make a great engineer). I voted for John McCain, because I want these things for Kayla:
- For her to be able to do as she pleases professionally and personally
- For her to be appropriately rewarded for her efforts, and for her to be able to use her blessings to benefit others in the way she chooses
- For her to be safe from terrorists and other enemies of America
I want freedom, opportunity and hope for my children. In the light of those ideals, Mr. Obama’s calls for “change” ring quite hollow.
If you’re not sure how to vote today, think about your kids. They are only children, and they don’t yet know what’s best for them. But in your gut, you know exactly what’s best for them: freedom and opportunity.
Please consider these things, and on behalf of the thousands of readers of FreeRealEstateTraining.com, I encourage you to vote for John McCain if you’ve not yet made up your mind. And please: Go vote right now. Don’t miss this God-given opportunity.
Thank you.

thank you – fact are facts and you said it plainly- now off to vote for McCain.
I agree 110%, I voted Sat. after having breakfast provided by
State Representative (Dem) and passed on some other tid bits
I was concerned about (tax issues) and even explained to him
my displeasure with party issues. Our Congress is the worst on
record for getting things done. Raising capital gains taxes has
always worked well: less tax money for Gov., less jobs created.
The reason for studying history is so: We quit f*@#*ing up!
Well said! Mr Obama is an eloquent speaker and he does dress well, but when you unbotton his coat, there is nothing of substance inside.
Hi, Bryan.
I agree with you on every point.
I’ve already voted for McCain (in Nevada).
To see how well Obama is doing makes me sick. The people of America are really lost and misguided if they favor someone like Obama to be the leader of our freedom. He wants to promote no freedom. It’s no wonder that the terrorists are promoting Obama. I mean, why bother with laboring over sneaking across the border and getting a drivers license when you’ve got a radical at the helm. I can see Obama standing and waiting at the airport ready to hand out drivers licenses and citizen papers for everybody dancing off the airplane.
I will be needing to set up an LLC for some real estate work. I’m wondering if I should/can set it up offshore :-/

I’m in complete agreement and voted for McCain last week. He may not be the next thing since sliced bread but the alternative is much worse. I agree with some of his viewpoints and others I think he could take some meetings with some of the early candidates but he’s still the better of the two.
Bryan,
RIGHT ON!! Thank you so much for your insight.
I have just returned from casting my vote for McCain at my very BLUE poll site. As I waited in the long line, I observed many Obama voter parents with their young children, taking pictures of them and the long line at the election EVENT of the century. I watched these innocent kids play and thought to myself, what will their future be in an Obama world?
I know the turnout at this election will be unprecedented, but I am not experiencing the Obama supporters’ confidence and determination. What I am experiencing, however, is FEAR. The same kind of fear that I experienced being in NYC on 9/11, only this time our enemy is American. And I keep hearing Farrakhan’s voice in the background describing Obama as the Messiah.
We are truly living in dangerous times my friend.

Well said Mr. Ellis although you are speaking within the context of being a Real Estate Investor / business owner, there are many other disturbing aspects of an Obama presidency.
Immediate amnesty for some 12 million illegal aliens will certainly turn into hundreds of millions when their families arrive virtually assuring a left wing agenda for decades as these new voters perpetuat Democrat controll in both house and senate as well as the presidency.
Gauranteed appointment of the most liberal supreme court justices.
Virtual elimination of your second amendment rights, and a severe strain on your first amendment rights, (fairness doctrine)! Mr. Obama would make it a crime to defend yourself in your own home!
Don’t be suprised if Obama pulls what mayor Bloomburg just did in NY city. NY city just changed the law to allow Bloomburg to run for a third term. Something another liberal( Bill Clinton) tried a few years ago.
I can go on and on. If you are a voter please get out and vote for McCain today. This election is the most important election in our time. Voter fraud is rampant with the FBI investigating ACORN and other well known fraud such as the 108,000. convicted felons on the Florida ballot. Every vote counts! Your children are counting on you!

URGENT UPDATE: Regardless of who you support, take care to *ignore* the early polling you’ll hear reported before the polls are closed. The early polling is notoriously wrong. Please just vote without regard to what others are doing, and we’ll all be better for it. — Bryan Ellis
Update from Bryan Ellis: curious that I’ve received MANY emails from Obama supporters who are demanding that I shut up and stick to real estate. — Bryan Ellis
Voted this morning in Colorado. Prayed last night about the election and voted McCain/Palin today. I have a son in the 5th grade and my husband and I are afraid of what his future will be if Obama is president.
My grandfather, who is 95 worked in the coal mines here. UMWA sent a DVD impressing on him to vote for Obama because he will look after the workers-my grandfather felt he had to vote for Obama because the union told him to and he was afraid they would find out he did not. That is scary but more of what we will see if Obama is president.
We own a business, so naturally I am not happy with the rhetoric in the last few weeks about spreading the wealth.
It is out of our hands now-I did my duty and voted my conscience this morning. GO MCCAIN!!
Bryan, this is unfortunate to hear from anyone. It makes me sick hearing people like you or any of us who make more than enough money each year to give a little more back. You cant sit here and say that you are going to be hurting after the tax cut. You are a purely greedy person, plain and simple. You are thinking about yourself when a whole country is a stake here.Just because a majority of Americans do not make as much money as us or any investors does not mean that they somehow don’t work as hard.As a mater of fact, I hardly call what we do work. You all should take a long look at yourself and think about whats been said here in Bryans article and across the country of selfish people crying about being “punished” for being successful. Whatever happened to the “United” Sates of America. So i say shame on you who think you cant afford to give back a little more each year. Sahme on you who say its unfair to tax someone who makes plenty of money a year more than someone who struggles each year to feed their family. Shame on you who look the other way while the “richest” country in the world has starving people in the streets. Shame on you who sit here and cry about yourself when their is so much going on that you could help change but are too worried about your bank account. Thats all I have to say..
Note to my thousands of subscribers: Observe that in this comment, what’s happening is I’m being attacked as being “purely greedy” and “selfish” simply because I disagree with Obama. Judge for yourself how Presidential this approach actually is. — Bryan Ellis
Bryan, I really like your style…not only with this particular post, but with the way you conduct your business. A true professional.
Although I don’t like everything about the McCain/Palin ticket, I have thought they are the lesser of two evils from the very beginning. Words cannot convey how extremely concerned I am for the future of our country if Obama does get elected into office.
I couldn’t agree more with most of the US population that we NEED CHANGE, but Barack Obama is NOT the change that we do need.
I wrote a blog, but never posted it, about the power of advertising and the power of the media. I’m of the opinion that the American people are being lead down a very dangerous road. What’s truly sad is they don’t even realize it and would never admit to it.
His campaign spending is staggering and there’s a reason for that…advertising works. Most people give little thought to what goes into producing marketing and advertising campaigns, particularly when it comes to the psychographics of the business. Advertising firms invest heavily in comprehensive research studies about people’s reactions/opinions to the messages of products and services advertised. The same careful consideration goes into Presidential campaign advertising.
Mark my words, the two slogans “Spread the Wealth” and “Change We Need” will go down in history as two of the most powerful campaign slogans ever (if not two of the most powerful slogans of any kind ever). Trust me, this is NOT a good thing.
I don’t see how anyone could disagree with the fact, that for the most part, the media has been very biased in their coverage of this campaign. This fact is one of the greatest pities of all. For the first time in life, I am seeking all types of new information sources. Thankfully the Internet makes that a little easier. Blogs like this for instance, truly do give the people a voice and a voice not based on how the media tells me I should think.
People are being programmed and they don’t even realize it, let alone know it.
Great post. Eloquently stated. Thanks for sharing. McCain/Palin got my vote!
Mr. Ellis,
I believe these people are fools that don’t know what they are doing. Their families as well as their own liberty’s are at stake! I won’t sit idlely by and watch a radical such as Obama sweap into the presidency and muzzle my future.
If this was my desire, I would move to France. I could be wrong, but with voter fraud and the influx of immigrants with the socialist ideas of where they came from it’s no wonder they love an Obama type! America is about doing it on your own without government breathing down your neck. I guess thats about to change! I’m praying for my country that McCain can pull this out. I’m not a big fan of McCain, I could have voted for another candidate that was an also ran, but here we are and McCain is the best choice for America!
By the way , this has everything to do with Real Estate Investing! Stick to your guns!
Bryan – Your summary is so “on the money”. Why such a concise message has not been clearly and succintly stated by McCain is disturbing. This election has come down to the ‘lesser of two evils’. It is very sad that Obama and McCain are the best candidates that the United States of America can provide to run for the highest office of the land. Your reasoning is based upon facts. Our future and our children’s future are at stake.
May God continue to bless America. We need it now more than ever.
Great Post, Bryan.
I would add another caveat to the mix under the quality of “Work Ethic”! this may futher explain the belief of Mr. Obama that to not agree with his mentality one would be selfish.
While we agree that to be successful requires dedication, courage, and hard work I only had to observe one incident to create my impression of Mr. Obama’s qualifications to the infamous call at 3:00am. While being a highly paid employee of the US Government earning a comfortable six figure income and having a fairly easy schedule with a fair degree of responsibilities, Mr. Obama has been seeking other job opportunities during normal working hours. When an emergency dealing with the economic stability of the country arose, Mr. Obama, instead of rushing to attempt to resolve the issues, as his mantra of inclusion would have us believe that he so readily does, he came out with the statement to the effect that if he is needed he is only a phone call away.
That does not describe the ethics of someone that works for his employer (us). I will leave the conclusion of what type of person that this behavior would speak of to the reader.
Zac, I have to ask; when was the last time you visited a state run, social services center? I have recently and it’s not a pretty picture.
There are millions of hard working people in this country, but there are also millions of people who doing nothing what-so-ever to contribute to society. There are drug addicts, alcholics, criminals and even some just plain lazy people. Call me selfish all day long, but I am not in favor of supporting these people…unless…they are sincerely ready to contibute something back to the community and to society. And they’re ready to fix themselves.
Government run hand-outs aren’t fixing them now and they won’t in the future either. The system will become even more clogged.
I was recently in a setting that allowed me to observe this “IN REAL LIFE”. If one agency couldn’t provide them with what they needed, there we’re plenty of people there to suggest another agency that would. All they cared about was where to find the hand-out. What’s really sad about this whole system is that the attempts to help fix these people are feeble at best.
Are you willing to go and volunteer to go help these people??? Believe it or not, that’s what they need most…someone who cares.
You scream about selfishness and greed, but please tell me what you’ve done to help. I was a Big Sister for five years, a Guardian Ad Litem for one year, another child’s mentor for one year. I’ve volunteered in all kinds of community programs throughout my life and have no intention of stopping anytime soon.
If you really want to help the people, get out there with them. The emotional, participatory kind of support is the kind the makes the biggest difference.
Obama policies are not the solution. He’s going to drive us into an even deeper darkness.
Hey Zac at 11:36am post
Did you hear about the two high school girls who were both hoping to get into college. One of the girls, Mary, worked very hard and constantly studied to keep her grages up to a 4.0. She would be able to get a scolarship with her GPA. Then their was Sally who thought going to school was to find out when the next party was going to be. Sally didn’t do much and held a 2.0 GPA.
The college they both wanted to go to required a 3.0 GPA to be admitted, so Obama decide that Mary should give up her Scolarship and one point of her GPA and give it to Sally so she could get into college as well. Share the wealth, WOW, what a concept.
I voted McCain/Palin today..
I also have prayed that there are enough non-koolaid drinking “American” citizens that see through the informmercials and mainstream media and see just what the “change” that will come our way via Obama really is!
I am not selfish, I readily share the fruits of my labor with others less fortunate. I read a blog this weekend that relayed a story of “redistribution” in the sernio of grades and college students. I quickly forwarded that to all Obamaites that I knew that have their children in college and constantly brag about their kids great GPA’s! I just couldn’t help myself!
I remember the first time that I heard “Barry” speak and I told everyone that I knew that he would beat Hillary and we were in for what might feel like the “twilight zone”. At that time everyone laughed at me and said I was overreacting…
What truly scares me is that there are so many people falling for the “hoodwinking and bamboozzaling”. But then again, there seems to be fewer people that feel that they should be accountable for themselves and their life situations.
I left an earlier post but not sure if it went thru to you.
McCain-Palin for lack of anyone better. Your concerns are all mine to a T. Keep up the great work.
Hey Zac at 11:36am post – THE USGA WOULD LIKE TO INFORM ALL GOLFERS there is a possibility of MAJOR rule changes to the game of golf, this may occur sometime after November 4.
This is only a preview as the complete rule book is being written now.
Here are a couple of basic changes
Golfers with handicaps:
- below 10 will have their green fees increase by 35%
- between 11 and 18 will see no increase in green fees
- above 18 will play for free and even get a check from the club/course played
The term “gimme putt” will be changed to “entitlement” and will be used as follows:
-handicaps below 10, no entitlements
-handicaps above 11 to 17, entitlements for putter length putts
-handicaps above 18, if on green, no need to ever putt, just pick it up
These entitlements are intended to bring about fairness in scoring so that the final scores of all players will be about the same.
In addition, a player will be limited to a max of one birdie and/or six pars, any excess must be given to those fellow players who have not yet scored a birdie or par.
Only after all players have received a birdie or par from the player making the birdie or par, can that Player begin to count his score again.
The current USGA handicap system will be used for the above purposes but the term “net score” will be available only for scoring those players with handicaps 18 and above. This is intended to “redistribute” the success of winning by making sure that in every competition the above 18 handicap players will post only “net score” against every other player’s gross score.
These new Rules are intended to CHANGE the game of golf. Golf must be about Fairness Only, it should have nothing to do with Ability.
Election Day Lesson in Sales
No matter where you stand or who you support you have to be impressed by the tactics of both major parties to get you to “buy” their product.
Both campaigns have managed to switch strategies, according to my recollection, several times throughout the months leading up to today. The posturing between taking the high road, being on defense, taking the initiative and going on offense, going negative, and sometimes using several tactics simultaneously were at times inspiring and at other times left me wondering if they knew who their candidate was. Throw in the constant rotation of pundits, surrogates, and analysts and there were not enough viewing hours in the day to evaluate the different opinions rating the effectiveness of the candidates.
But, that was not my main ideal of how an effect marketing and sales campaign should be run. That was more like an MMA Fight of the Week. American politics at its best!
The two parties represent two vastly different views for the future of the country, indeed. Given the contrast of ideas I am not sure of what percentage of the population really needed to be convinced of who their choice should be. Rather, the emphasis was probably more of getting the factions motivated to take action.
Observing the two campaigns I would be interested in hearing from you which one had the better sales message? How was the message presented? Which side presented logic more effectively? Which side presented emotion more effectively? Who sold the Sizzle, not the Steak?
And, later on today, or tomorrow, we shall find out who won…….maybe!
Bryan,
Ignore the naysayers!! You are entitled to your opinion, and I, for one, would like to hear more of it!
****DEBRA****
Please send me the link to your blog re the power of advertising and the power of the media. I totally agree with you. In fact, I am appalled by the extreme bias of the liberal media here. I stopped watching network news and canceled my subscription to the NY Times. You are so right, and that’s not Reverend Wright!
Val in NYC
Once upon a time, there was a charismatic and eloquent young leader who decided his nation needed a change and that he was the one to implement it. The people were receptive and ready for change.
He spoke passionately when denouncing the existing system and the media loved him. Nobody questioned what he believed in or who his friends were. He would help the poor and bring free medical care and education to all. He would bring justice and equality. He said I am for hope and change, and I will bring you both. Few people bothered to ask about the change, and by the time the executioner’s guns went silent, all personal firearms had been confiscated, along with most personal freedoms.
When everyone was finally equal, they were (and are) equally poor, hungry and miserable. Their free education was (and is) all but worthless. Their free and universal health care was (and remains) a travesty. When the change was fully implemented, the country had been reduced to Third World status. More than a million people fled in small boats and rafts.
The charismatic young leader was Fidel Castro; the nation is Cuba.
The citizens of the United States would never fall for a charismatic, eloquent young leader who promises hope and change without asking, “what kind of change, and how much will it cost us?” – would we?
I get a little tired of the accusations that if you don’t want the government taking money from the most productive members of society by force and giving to less productive ones, you are somehow selfish. Look up the tax records. Dick Cheney (aka Satan) donated 70% of his income to charity last year. McCain donated 30% of his. Last year, I donated 8 times as much to charity as did Nobama, though I made far less than the millions he did. I donated about 80 times as much as Joe Biden, and made less than he did, too. Not that I’m so great, but the point is this: I am more qualified to decide where I want money to go than some bureaucrat is. If you take money away from me to fund your pet projects, you’re telling me you know better how to allocate my resources than I do. And that logic (or lack thereof) makes you a fool.
See, these assclowns are not compassionate. They know that sticking it to “the rich” while giving money away to poor people plays well with the larger numbers of poor people. Obama bin Biden also know that giving money to people who are not productive keeps them that way, and in their socialist pockets. Just because they smile a lot does not make them nice people.
Witness the attacks on Joe the Plumber when he asked Nobama a question where he exposed his socialist agenda. The media looked up his ass with a crowbar and a flashlight. Government officials used government computers were to dig up his private information and the complicit media exposed it publicly. These are not nice people. They have sharp elbows and play rough. So much for compassion… Unless you want to steal from “rich people”…
Bryan,
Well written as always. This is the first time in my history that I believe I am fighting for this country. The first time I am dragging people to the polls to vote. The first time I speak to people about the way they are voting. The first time I’m giving the facts to educate people about the candidates. I’ve always believed that “what can one man do to hurt us in 4 years?” NOT ANY MORE. The damage that can take place with Obama Hussien scares the life out of me.I’m getting the bus ready and filling it with McCain voters and getting them to the ballot boxes.
Go America. Go Freedom.
For Bryan & others that stand by him,
I am with you all the way.
Why can & how can some of these people call Republicans or Independents greedy or whatever selfish?
When we are also taking responsibility (getting out of bed & going to work and trying to make ends meet without welfare) and same time taking on local & state taxes besides the Federal( which are all usually the demand for welfare funding). Now they need more money for roads & schools. Talking about raising fuel taxes again (both State & Federal) and more.
When the States, Cities, and Counties are already hurting from the Feds (Democrat) decisions? ?
REMEMBER,
When there is extra money in household, their are more numbers of Republicans & Independents than Democrats are always the ones that give to charity most all the time. And not only, but adopt other peoples babies and give them a new life.
All it actually comes down to, they just know the responsibilities other than live off other people and want to help other people, their own way. Without regulation.
Democrats always want what someone else has or the power to take it from other people.
There are lots of families of Democrats that are good.
Remember how the United States was born.
The People fled high taxation & government regulation control. And came to the United States with their own sparing money and worked together as neighbors and friends.
My dad fought in World War II, so you could be free. And everybody was on the same page and helped and stood up for America ! Back then.
Now what is going on ? People that want to take over the U.S. with POWER of welfare & socialism.
Sorry ! We Love America.
And will fight for what it always has stood for.
Now, new people want to change it. Very sad.
Instead of raising anyones taxes how about cutting back on expenses. Any time a family is having financial problems the first thing they do is to see where they can cut back on unnecessary expenses.
Recently someone sent me a link to a site to watch a movie called Zeitgeist:addendum which explains how we got into this financial problem, very eye opening:
http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/
The movie starts off a little strange almost looking like there is something wrong with the video but just keep watching and it gets better.
The second half of the movie focuses on a social engineer Jacque Fresco (http://thevenusproject.com). i don’t know if his solutions are right (especially for those of us interested in wealth building) but i have been listening to a lot of his interviews and videos on YouTube and he is right about a lot of the reasons for humanitys problems.
Peace,
michael e. v. knight
I was speaking with my wife tonite about the election as we do daily and our fears of an Obama presidency and the complete naivety of the American people in general. I just don’t understand how this man can do no wrong? It is trully scary and bewildering to me.
I never knew what a partial birth abortion really was and just knew that whatever it entailed it sure didn’t sound good and wasn’t sure if I really wanted to know to tell you the truth. I could not understand why so many “Christian” people I know were voting for any candidate that supported abortion period? My wife went on to explain to me what exactly a partial birth abortion was and I was horrified that procedures like this are even legal! So I was the naive American to this particular procedure as are most Americans voting for Barrack Obama (or just “Barrack” as his people call him!?). So for anyone that was sharing the same naivety as me here is what it entails:
A woman in late term pregnancy (up to 7 months I beleive correct me if I am wrong) has her labor induced, the baby is removed from the womb, the baby which has underdeveloped lungs is left to die and noone can intervene at that point. How can a man with 2 healthy children that has witnessed the miracle of birth and fatherhood and claim to be a Christian support such a practice? How can anyone claiming to be Christian cast their vote for someone that supports this?
I myself was born at 6 months and weighed 2 lbs at birth. I spent 3 months in an incubator at the University of Washington and am here to post on this blog. But according to some I would not have been considered a living, breathing, human being?
This is just one of the many facets that I do not like about Barack Obama and is why I voted McCain today. I too was not thrilled about either candidate but I had no problem making the decision to vote for McCain.
So now that Obama has been elected President I’m in a little bit of a daze. Disbelief and confusion as to what has happened to the citizens of our country and their judgment. Are many of you that voted for Obama that selfish that you want to look to the government to solve all of your problems? Mark my words, whether you ever admit it or not, this has been a very bad judgment call of the American people and we will pay for this decision and regret it in the future. Hindsight will all be 20/20 for most Obama supporters. Terrorists are jumping for joy tonite as they may finally get their chance to turn the United States into a mid 90′s Israel.
So tonite I say a prayer for this country and just put it all in God’s hands as there is really nothing I can do at this point but expect the worst and hope for the best. He is officially our President and I have to support that now as hard as that is.
If anyone here voted for Obama and is a Christian I would like to here your justification on partial birth abortions. How do you fit this into your belief system to justify voting for this man? Please explain as I see no way to do it?
Bryan,
I guess you are really afraid now that the election didn’t go your way (I TOLD YOU SO), but you will get over it. But answer this, you tried to make your last fear pitch yesterday to elect McCain by stooping as low as you could when you use your daughter’s future to elect McCain over Obama. I quote “you want your children to have the best of everything, didn’t you? Mr. Obama does not agree.” Hey Bryan maybe you didn’t notice but he also has two daughters, their names are Malia and Natasha.
I guess Obama doesn’t love or want the same bright future you want for your daughter. Don’t you think whatever he will do to hurt your daughter or my daughter or anybody’s daughter will also hurt his own daughters? Duh? That was such a lame attempt. I hope you feel like a of crap.
Also, you tried calling Obama a hypocrite, but in the end we are finding out that the real hypocrite is YOU! Now it’s time for you to get real and stop using this site and your readers to promote your own agenda, whatever that is. The people have spoken! Live with it!
Let’s all say it together, President Obama!
Tony
Note To My Thousands Of Readers: You’ll observe the nature of the people who want to be most visible in favor of Obama. In contrast, I’ll offer my congratulations to Obama. He’s not my choice, but he’s now the President-elect, so congratulations are in order. Be clear, though: I will continue to aggressively comment on political issues that effect real estate investors like us. — Bryan Ellis
IN regards to Tony,
Your well wishes are set in print for the world to see.
We shall see how the new administration bodes for America in the coming year. I pray that with congress and the executive branch in the same party we do not experience what the Obama campaign predicted.
Having children too I know that they will not have to deal with the same challenges as the Obama kids. (Sorry, never took the time out to find out what their names were or even care about confirming your attempt at such). They will have the plan that federal government officials get. That means the best medical care in the world delivered by the best paid and qualified doctors in the world. Same as you Tony! And, Barach will not have to worry about the future of Social Security like you and I because they have a much better private plan! The Obama’s will even have a better retirement plan, if one even exist in the private sector any longer.
So the “SUH” really falls back on you for believing everything you hear on MSNBC.
Hey tmusson and all you other doom and gloom prophets, where were you when George W was elected? Did you predict we would be looking at the mess we are in now? President Obama has inherited this mess from the past administration but all you can say now is how bad he will be. Shame on all of you who are just praying that President Obama screws up. I’m sure glad the majority of people in this country don’t think like you.
Here’s the other thing you need to look at, America has elected so many white men to lead this country that it can stand the fact that a black man is now it’s leader. The world now respects America for finally showing them that it’s not just talk anymore. America actually does give everyone the opportunity to be somebody special. Give this man a chance and stop all your hating!
Note To My Many Readers: I realize that most of you don’t think like this commenter. I’m not referring to your selection of candidate for President, I’m referring to this particular commenter’s obsession with race and referring to those who disagree with him as “haters”. I’ll continue to allow this commenter to say what he pleases as an object lesson for the rest of us. I voted for John McCain and am sorely disappointed that he didn’t win. But I do not hate Barrack Obama, nor do I hate his supporters. Nor do I hate this misguided commenter. — Bryan Ellis
Bryan,
I am beginning to think you love controversy. You started this mess when many who respect your opinion in real estate suggested that you stick to real estate. And as for the “hater” tag maybe you need to look up the definition of hater and go back and read some of the past comments on this post, and even read your own comments to see how much they line up with it’s definition.
To my esteemed readers: Judge for yourself whether I’m behaving with hatred. This commenter dislikes me, I suspect, because I point out the irrationality in his comments. He seems to feel that dissent with a person’s opinion is hatred, and if there is a minority involved on any side of the disagreement, then the hatred is mixed with racism. I reject this foolishness. — Bryan Ellis
You personally have brought up every piece of negative information you could gather to persuade people to see things your way. The main reason is because you proudly label yourself as a Republican and follow whatever their agenda stands for. If we want to put a label on ourselves why can’t we just be “Americans”. When people place lables on themselves like you and Republicans, it’s hard to see the other person’s point of view, which is what continues to divide this country today.
Again, a note to my esteemed readers: If you’re curious about this person’s comments, go back and check the record using this website’s “search” facilities to see how many times I’ve “proudly labeled myself a Republican” as this commenter suggests. You’ll find no instances of it whatsoever. What you will find is my absolute, rock-ribbed and totally unapologetic conservatism. What is conservatism? It’s belief in humanity. It’s belief that I and those around me do best when we are free. It’s a belief that I and my family – and you and your family – are the most important unit of society, not government. It’s a belief that the government should serve needs when necessary – national defense, infrastructure – and stay out of the way on other issues. These are the things I espouse. — Bryan Ellis
Can you believe how many voted based on “race”?
Millions of people believe that President Obama loves this country just as much as you. He is putting his life on the line to do what he feels is right for the country. Don’t you understand becasue of the hatred and bigotry in this country that it takes a whole lot of courage for this man to stand up the way he has. He knows that there are people out there who does not like him because of his color and some are crazy enough to try and kill him.
Here’s another flaw in this commenter’s reasoning. He’s attempting to categorize the danger of the job of the Presidency as a racial issue. The problem with this line of thinking is that this commenter equates every challenge with race, hatred and bigotry. He clearly has forgotten than Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley and John F. Kennedy were all assassinated in office, and that dozens of additional attempts have been made against other Presidents… were those race related? Of course not. Yet again, a massive shortcoming in this commenter’s argument. — Bryan Ellis
Bryan you have a safe little cozy world going on for you, and to think this new unexperience president may mess it up for you is very frightening, isn’t it? But guess what? The people have spoken and they are not fools as some of your supporters have suggested. They are Americans and agrees with President Obama’s agenda. It’s nothing wrong with disagreeing but at some point you should make a decision to support your new President and your country, and not just with lip service.
The insight garnered about the commenter from this section is very telling. He refers to a “safe little cozy world” in which he suggests I exist, yet two major problems exist for him: (1) He knows nothing of my circumstances and (2) there is the implicit suggestion that I should now be afraid. This is the stuff of small minds. Self-reliant people do not slink about in fear, we adapt to situations that we face. We don’t rely on the government to give us our due, we go and make it happen. — Bryan Ellis
President Obama has shown the world that in America anything is possible. His selection alone should make most Americans proud, but on this post you would think we are all from different countries. This election was suppose to show the world how democracy works, whether you like it or not. Are we just full of talk but no substance?
Here again, the commenter fails to stay on point. Is his argument that Barrack Obama is a good selection because he is a minority? If that alone is his argument, it demonstrates his own inability to factor in issues that transcend race. He also equates my distaste for Barrack Obama as a distaste for the way our electoral system works. A childish equation, to be sure. — Bryan Ellis
Last comment Bryan, just like real estate has made your dreams possible many people are now for the first time starting to believe that if America can actually elect a black man to be it’s president that maybe there is hope for me in America to see my dreams come true. Have you ever thought of the significant impact President Obama’s message is resonating around the world? The world is excited about what just happened in America, why can’t we? We elected 43 other white men prior to yesterday and lived with our choice. I say that the first African American person chosen to be president is not perfect and neither was the first white American president. No it’s not about race, but I think President Obama deserves a chance to show if he can deliver on what he promised. By the way, can you even name every president in history that actually delivered on their rally promises? I will let you do the research. But let that be the same benchmark by which President Obama will be judged. Fair enough?
The commenter uses this paragraph to state that his argument isn’t about race, then succeeds in proving that race is his entire argument.
While I appreciate the efforts of this commenter, he simply doesn’t pass muster as a coherent presenter of facts. His arguments are circuitous and incomplete. He seems to suggest that supporting a President is the same as agreeing with his policies. Wrong. Supporting a President means falling in line with the laws under which that President governs. And to that extent, President Elect Obama will be supported. But his policies – which lack reason and are based on class warfare – will be picked apart and consistently revealed for the socialist ideals they represent. — Bryan Ellis
Tony,
You are exactly why we will never get over race issues in this country. The only people making this a race issue are people like you. It’s pretty sad.
Tmusson what is sad is that you and Bryan are so afraid to look at your self righteous beliefs of how you think the world should exist. Guess what, NEWS FLASH “it’s not your world anymore!”
To my thousands of esteemed readers: What’s curious about this commenter is that he feels a refusal to agree with him amounts to self-righteousness. That may be the most arrogant thing I’ve seen, since the implicit suggestion is that “actual righteousness” is in agreeing with him. Further, he suggests that somehow people who have a different opinion are now excluded from this world. I suspect that even people who are on his side of the political aisle would disagree with such a childish proposition. — Bryan Ellis
I find it kinda funny how Bryan likes to give his holier than thou analysis of someone else’s comments that doesn’t agree with his, as if he is the final authority. Oh well, I guess he is the final authority since it is his web site.
Notice the two things this commenter conveniently ignores: (1) The arguments he makes are being rebutted with simple reason and (2) He makes no attempt to respond in kind. — Bryan Ellis
The problem with Bryan’s interpretation of what I wrote are so off base and is so far from the truth that I must wonder if he is from the same planet. He is easily offended, especially if you disagree with him. I don’t understand why he has to prove he is right everytime. It must be to protect his “GURU” status membership.
Uh oh I just hit a nerve, I feel an interpretation analysis coming on:-)
My esteemed readers, a really good policy is to let the evidence make your points. It shows a weak argument otherwise. For example, this commenter points out his assumptions that I am “easily offended” and that he has “hit a nerve”. This is much like a person who finds the need to constantly reiterate how “honest” they are, rather than allowing the strength of their behavior to show it. This implicitly casts doubt on claims of “honesty”, just as this commenter’s assumptions ring hollow in the light of a lack of evidence. — Bryan Ellis
Tony
Bryan,
You don’t even have to comment on Anthony’s remarks, you can’t argue with a close minded, one sided thinking messiah follower.
HE IS AN IDIOT, YES ANTHONY, YOU ARE AN IDIOT. I am black, not African American, BLACK !! so you can’t say that I am racist so don’t try.
Anthony has been making retarded statements for months now and it’s been quite humorous to read. If Obama was not black/mullato (and yes I say black because he’s not from Africa, or is he NOT BORN IN THE US and and not qualified to be president), Anthony would not even be making any comments to this real estate blog.
Anthony has proven to be the MOST RACIST person whom has ever made a post to this forum as he is the one who keeps putting race at front in all of his comments. Do you actually think Anthony would be so defensive if Hillary or Edwards were the Democratic nominee or now president elect. YEAH RIGHT !!!!!!!!!! LOL,LOL, LOL !!!!!
Anthony is sooooo gleeful that Obama is in office he does not even care what negative things Obama might do. So Anthony since your soooo happy with Obama why don’t do go over to his neighborhood and start writing him a checks for all welfare programs you want him to fund.
Anthony if you think socialism or communism are so great well then why don’t you just pack up your bags (after leaving your riches with Obama) and head back to the mother continent of Africa where you can live with all black people who have always been in power there and have not had to suffer under the “white” man like you have suffered so much living in the USA.
Or if you want just send out checks to all of us each month, then you won’t have to give Obama any money. So Anthony, so you don’t add any more insult to us and keep making black people look like stupid, ignorant, racists, why don’t you just hang it up bro. As you can see no one on this blog ever agrees with you or has anything positive to say about your views. Obama may have won the election but you are still the loser.
When this blog started out months ago it was titled. Who will be better for Real Estate Investors: Obama or McCain? Funny but I don’t remember any body saying that Obama would be better (except you OR did you even ever say he would) or gave ANY intelligent reason or facts that would indicate the Obama would be better for RE Investors. Case closed !!
No, basically Anthony has used this blog to call people who disagreed with him to call them racist, selfish, self centered, greedy and bad people.
Anthony, Obama said a couple of days ago he wants to have a Civilian Security Force and make them just as strong, large and funded as the US military, sounds vaguely familiar as what a guy from Europe, Germany to be exact, said back in the 1930′s. Well, I’m going to join because I’ve always wanted my own tank and bazooka and look good in tall black boots, are you with me?
Buda,
I invite Buda to respond, but I’ll interject a few things here as well. — Bryan Ellis
You wrote a whole lot of words, to say very little.
Are you trying to say that because you’re Black, that you can’t be racist? That has to be the most idiotic statement ever made on these blog’s of Bryan’s. And there have been many. Please explain to me why your being Black means that you can’t be a racist. I really want to hear that explanation.
This seems quite clear. You’ve consistently implied that people who are not black are therefore racist. It’s a foolish definition, but the one under which you’ve been operating. — Bryan Ellis
You call me a racist, because I constantly bring up race. So, if I talk about brain surgery all the time, am I a brain surgeon? If I watch porn all the time, am I a porn star? Get real. I’m not racist. All I’ve ever talked about was unity. Go back and reread all of my posts. I’ve never said a damaging word regarding any color, race, gender or whatever. I speak pretty poorly about Republicans though, but that’s to be expected.
This shows impressively limited mental range. Constant and unreasonable focus on a topic doesn’t make you an expert, it shows obsession. So if you talk about brain surgery all the time, you’re obsessed with brain surgery. If you watch porn all the time, you’re obsessed with porn. And yes, if you talk about race all of the time – particularly when you’re the only one talking about it – you’re obsessed with race. — Bryan Ellis
Look, nobody wants their taxes raised. I know I don’t. But if Obama wants to raise taxes to try and help the country get out of the mess it’s in, then I say let him try. I’m not going to whine about it. Where were you all when Bush was giving tax breaks to the rich? Isn’t that just another form of welfare? Is that what capitalism is supposed to be about? Making the rich richer?
Capitalism is about giving everyone the opportunity to be rich – or whatever they want to be. Socialism/Marxism – as Obama supports – is all about guaranteeing that nobody can ever exceed a threshold defined by the government, and that everyone is totally dependent. You may be sufficiently limited in potential that a “cap” on your ability is fine, but many of us reject that foolishness, and history supports us. — Bryan Ellis
And Buda, once and for all can we put Obama’s nationality to rest? The race is over, so there’s no need for the continued propoganda statements. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii. Maybe you’re unaware that Hawaii is apart of the US, but rest assured that it is. Obama’s father was African, and his mother was American. I think it’s very safe to call him and African American.
You know Buda, you sound like that Black man that the media always digs up, to counter whatever logical Black people are saying. Now that Obama is going to be President, there should be plenty of work for you.
I am very pleased – your webpage is very good!
